Een paar jaar geleden ontdekte ik Polly Becker. Poëtisch mooi

Deze Amerikaanse illustratrice gebruikt haar verzamelingen afkomstig van allerhande spullenhulpjes om verfijnde assemblages te maken. De 'make-over' van haar werk (die ik ooit in opdracht van school maakte) stuurde ik naar haar op, en dit was haar reactie:

i like it. sorry not to reply. i have 2 small children and i find it hard to eventake a shower these days.my email build up and so do the dishes in the sink and the piles of paperwork. call me when you come to the us and i can hire you to do my work so that i have more time with my family. or you can just "reinterpret" old stuff and we'll resell it to new clients!

Hiervoor zie het oorspronkelijke werk van haar + mijn 'interpretatie'. (later ook te zien in de HKU-krant).

Ook bij het maken van nieuw werk laat ik mij nog regelmatig door haar inspireren zoals ook voor de kaarten die je kan zien in mijn webwinkeltje Temps Perdu.
